A Cardiothoracic Technologist at Vejthani Hospital is a specialized healthcare professional who supports cardiothoracic surgeons and physicians in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of heart and thoracic conditions. Working within the Vejthani Cardiac Center, the technologist plays a critical role in ensuring the precision, safety, and efficiency of cardiovascular procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preoperative and Intraoperative Support Assist in preparing patients and surgical equipment for cardiothoracic procedures such as Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), valvular repair/replacement, and congenital heart defect surgeries
• Cardiac Catheterization Lab Assistance Operate and monitor equipment during procedures like coronary angiograms, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), and pacemaker implantations
• Diagnostic Imaging and Monitoring Support non-invasive investigations including echocardiograms, stress tests, and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). Ensure accurate data collection and interpretation for physician review.
• Equipment Management Maintain and calibrate advanced cardiothoracic surgical and diagnostic equipment, including intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and automated implantable cardiac defibrillators (AICD)
• Postoperative Care Support Collaborate with cardiac rehabilitation teams to monitor patient recovery and assist in therapeutic programs aimed at restoring cardiovascular health.
• Documentation and Compliance Record procedural data, maintain patient records, and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and international standards such as JCI accreditation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Biomedical Science, or a related field
• Specialized training in cardiothoracic procedures and equipment
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Experience in a cardiac center or operating room setting preferred
• Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills
